Organic Marketing Case Study

Already Winning.
200 More Leads.

Many dealerships chase growth by increasing ad spend. Grand Traverse Leisure kept its paid advertising spend steady and created more ways for buyers to find the dealership organically.

The Situation

Already Strong in Traverse City

Many dealerships invest in organic marketing because they’re struggling to be found online. Grand Traverse Leisure’s situation was different.

Before adding Dealer Lux Organic Marketing, Grand Traverse was already one of Northern Michigan’s most established hot tub dealerships. Strong reputation. Active paid advertising. Consistent lead generation. They also held top positions across many of Traverse City’s highest-intent hot tub searches, including #1 rankings for terms like “hot tubs” and “hot tub sales.” They had already established themselves in their home market. The next challenge was finding more room to grow.

Could they continue growing without becoming increasingly dependent on paid advertising?

Grand Traverse added Dealer Lux Organic Marketing alongside its existing advertising to create more ways for buyers to find the dealership over time.

March 2024–February 2025 was the first complete 12-month lead period available after the Dealer Lux website launched. Organic Marketing began in December 2024. Lead and traffic results compare the same months year over year to account for seasonality. Submissions marked as spam were excluded. Paid advertising spend remained consistent across both periods.

Grand Traverse wasn’t trying to fix a marketing problem. They were trying to solve a growth problem.

Why This Matters

This Wasn’t a Turnaround Story

Many marketing case studies begin with a struggling dealership. This isn’t one of them.

That makes the 44% lead growth more meaningful. When a dealership is already visible, already advertising, and already generating leads, there is simply less untapped opportunity available.

The growth also came during a soft market. According to IBISWorld, hot tub industry revenue declined in 2025. At the same time, the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index averaged roughly 22% lower during Grand Traverse’s growth period than during the same months a year earlier.

Instead of leaning harder on paid ads, Grand Traverse created more ways for buyers to find and evaluate the dealership. Organic traffic grew 64% over the same period, while total leads grew 44%.

The Pattern Behind the Growth

The Lead Gap Kept Widening

Growth wasn’t concentrated in a single month or seasonal spike. Throughout most of the year, the dealership generated more leads than it had during the same months a year earlier, and the cumulative gap kept widening.

The Business Result

By the End of the First Half, Revenue Was Up 27%

The 12-month analysis ended in February with 200 more leads than the prior-year period.

The advantage continued through June: Grand Traverse generated another 34 leads beyond the same four months in 2025.

When Grand Traverse closed its books for the first half of 2026, companywide gross revenue was up 27% year over year.

More buyers were finding, researching, and contacting the dealership. And the business grew with them.

What We Did

Three Objectives, One Result

Be Present Wherever Buyers Start Their Search

Hot tub buyers don’t all begin their journey in the same place.

Some search broadly for hot tubs, swim spas, saunas, pricing, financing, installation, or ownership questions. Others compare options, look for trusted local dealers, or research what fits their space and budget before visiting a showroom.

Dealer Lux expanded Grand Traverse Leisure’s visibility across more of the searches buyers use throughout Northern Michigan.

Help Buyers Make Progress Before They Visit

Most shoppers don’t contact a dealership the moment they become interested in a hot tub. They compare products, evaluate brands, and gather information before making a purchase decision.

Dealer Lux built out product pages, comparison content, buying guides, and educational resources to answer more of those questions before a shopper spoke with a salesperson.

Build a Stronger Digital Storefront Over Time

Every page, guide, comparison, and local resource became another pathway for buyers to discover Grand Traverse Leisure.

Dealer Lux treats rankings as a means to an end. The work is built to help more buyers find the dealership, answer their questions, and move toward a purchase.

What This Means for Dealers

Growth Looks Different When You’re Already Winning

Not every dealership starts where Grand Traverse Leisure started. Some need foundational improvements before growth can happen. Others already have a strong website, active advertising, and steady lead flow.

A dealership starting with weaker visibility may have more obvious opportunities to capture. That’s what makes Grand Traverse interesting. Many of those obvious wins were already in place.

The next stage of growth isn’t always reaching more people. Sometimes it’s helping more of the right people find you.
